Vanda Slann

‘This past year she has been more than just support, she has helped my family through an incredibly tough time when I was really unwell for seven months and she did all that she could without any complaints,’ said nominee and daughter Hannah Robins.
‘She would come to our house at 4.45am to be there when her granddaughter woke up, and help her throughout the whole morning until school and then she was visiting me in hospital and still working herself.
‘She stepped up without hesitation, putting her own life on hold for us. It just shows what a truly special lady she is.’ 
Vanda has two children and three grandchildren, all of whom she adores. ‘The joy of having grandchildren in your life is amazing, you get brought down by life so much but they bring back the happiness,’ said Vanda. 
‘I am so lucky and blessed to be nominated, but any loving grandparent would do anything for their family.’
