Tiffany Anna and Woodie
Tiffany Anna and Woodie have been nominated for Arts Contribution of the Year
About
Artists Tiffany Anna and Woodie collaborated on the airport mural last year, which featured local wildlife and bright colours.
‘I can only imagine the hard work and preparation that went into the mural, let alone the talent,’ said their nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous.
‘It’s such a pleasant welcome into the airport.’
The pair were very pleased to hear of their nomination for the Arts Contribution award.
‘We wanted the mural to be a mix of everything beautiful in Guernsey,’ said Tiffany Anna. ‘We included the Guernsey lily, which is bright and happy, there’s mackerel, and a bumblebee which is so vital to the island.'
The mural also included the coordinates of the airport.
‘We wanted it to be bright, vibrant, and engaging,’ said Woodie.
After much preparation, the mural took the pair five weeks to complete, fitting painting sessions into airport availability as well as their own day jobs.
With Tiffany Anna working in acrylic and Woodie in spray paint, the pair avoided getting in each other’s way, focusing on different sections of the mural at a time.
‘We worked very well together,’ said Woodie. ‘We were very happy with how it turned out.’
The pair continued their artistic partnership with a collaborative wall at UPAINT art festival in Morocco this June. Tiffany Anna said she would love to do another mural locally and the pair are both looking for their next artistic project.
