St Mary and St Michael Primary School

St Mary and St Michael Primary School has been nominated for Teacher of the Year

About

The teachers at St Mary and St Michael Primary School work hard to make it a wonderful place to send your children to learn, according to nominator Kiera Nicholls.
‘My girls are thriving at St Mary and St Michael because of those that dedicate their time to them and bring positive energy to the lessons. A simple “thank you” just doesn’t seem enough,’ said Miss Nicholls.
‘It’s hard to pick just one teacher from the school as they are all amazing.’
One of Miss Nicholls’ daughters was diagnosed with autism earlier this year.
‘Even before her diagnosis the school accommodated her needs. The school have also thought ahead to September and how they can make it easier and smoother for Rosie and her sisters to transition back into school after the summer holidays.
Headteacher Mary Robertshaw said: 'We celebrate successes together, support each other through challenges and share a common commitment to giving every child the very best education and opportunities.'
Mrs Robertshaw said a highlight of her role as headteacher was working alongside such a dedicated and talented staff team.
‘Every day I have the opportunity to work alongside exceptional staff, wonderful children and supportive families who all want the very best for one another.
'There is a real sense of belonging here, and I feel incredibly proud to be part of such a caring, dedicated and faith-filled community.’
