Sharon Jenkins

Sharon Jenkins, grandmother to four, said nothing could prepare her for the love she felt for her grandchildren when each of them came into her life. 
‘They’re what I live for,’ said Mrs Jenkins. ‘Being a grandparent means everything. They’re extensions of your own children.’ 
Mrs Jenkins’ grandchildren never fail to brighten her day. Her favourite part of being a grandmother is getting cuddles from her grandchildren. ‘It just means the world when they tell you they love you’. 
Mrs Jenkins often hosts sleepovers for her younger grandchildren and adores spending time with them, no matter the activity. 
‘Sharon is a loving nana who regularly looks after several grandchildren and often at short notice,’ said Mrs Jenkins’ nominator. 
‘Living in Alderney, travel issues often prevent her children getting back from college courses or work, and Sharon is always available to help with the grandchildren, even if she has to cancel her own arrangements.’
‘You just do what you do because they’re your family,’ said Mrs Jenkins. ‘They’re my little people.’
