Ross Le Brun
ROSS LE BRUN has been nominated for the Arts Contribution award.
About
He has contributed heavily to the island’s art scene over the years, producing political cartoons and caricatures, organising the Chalk Art Festival, and creating the recent 80th Liberation anniversary mural at L’Eree.
‘I’m surprised and very, very happy to be nominated,’ said Mr Le Brun. ‘I like doing things that make people smile and laugh.’
Nominator Suzie Fallaize said: ‘He’s a local lad with passion for the island which shines through when you meet him.
‘What makes Ross stand out as an artist is his absolute passion for it. His work is absolutely fantastic.’
Mr Le Brun said he was especially grateful to have had the opportunity to paint the mural at L'Eree.
‘I’m trying to keep my hand in and staying involved in the art scene. I’d love more opportunities like that, and hopefully more do come.’
Mr Le Brun is currently working on commissions and plans to enter open art competitions on the island as well as creating
caricatures for Seafront Sunday and corporate gigs.
