Noah Nichols

A little over a year ago, Noah Nichols started Noah’s Veg Patch as a way to earn pocket money by growing vegetables at home. 
Noah now runs the popular roadside stall outside his home and regularly attends Seafront Sundays, local markets and community events, selling produce that he has grown from seed to harvest. 
‘He is a hard-working and inspiring young entrepreneur who deserves recognition for what he has achieved at just 12 years old,’ said his nominator. ‘He has worked incredibly hard to grow his project, build relationships within the community, and secure sponsorship to help take Noah’s Veg Patch even further.
‘He proves that age is no barrier to achieving great things.’ 
Proud and honoured to be nominated, Noah hopes to encourage islanders to support local growers and inspire other young people to start gardening. 
‘There is always something to do at the Veg Patch,’ he said. ‘I grow all sorts of vegetables, which means sowing seeds, planting, watering, weeding, looking after the soil, harvesting and getting everything ready to sell.’
Noah’s favourite part of the process is getting to taste his own produce and seeing others enjoy the food he has grown. 
‘I just want to show that even if you’re only 12, you can still make a positive difference in your community.’
