Mya Vaudin
MYA VAUDIN has been nominated for the Young Achiever of the Year award.
About
Described by her nominator Emma Wilkins as ‘caring, enthusiastic, and positive’, 14-year-old Mya was
commended for always going the extra mile for her friends, the local community, and in her hobbies too.
Mya teaches around three times a week at the Little Phoenix Tumbling Club.
‘She is incredible with the kids, making sure everyone feels comfortable whilst they are there.’ Mrs Wilkins said. ‘She is a great role model to all her students.'
Mya said that she loved to see the smiling faces of her charges.
‘You can see that they enjoy it and are improving each day,’ said Mya.
‘I would like to be a primary school teacher when I’m older and coaching the kids helped me realise that.’
She is also dedicated to training herself and competes in British Tumbling Championships, all whilst studying for her exams.
Mya also lives with Type 1 diabetes, which she takes in her stride.
‘She even brings her joyful character to this part of her life, helping to raise money for Diabetes Guernsey in discos and quizzes,’ said Mrs Wilkins. ‘She is one in a million, let alone in Guernsey.’
