Matthew Stockreiter has been nominated for Arts Contribution of the Year
About
Matthew Stockreiter is grateful to be nominated for the award.
A director and cinematographer, he has been behind the camera for many films based in Guernsey over the last five years.
After directing and filming documentaries at university, Mr Stockreiter brought his skills back to the island. ‘What I enjoy most is telling stories visually and finding the best way to capture the emotion and atmosphere of each project’, he said. ‘I love creating images that have an emotional impact.’
A collaborator on a range of short films, features, and wildlife projects, Mr Stockreiter has worked with White Rock Productions, Wild Islands, Ivy Gate Films, Golden Goat Films, and Revasser Films.
‘Filmmaking is such a collaborative process, so this nomination also reflects the incredible directors, crews, cast, and everyone I’ve had the privilege of working with’, he said.
In the future, Mr Stockreiter hopes to expand his work in wildlife and conservation documentaries, whilst continuing to work on high quality films.
‘Matt has helped to put Guernsey filmmaking on the map’, said his anonymous nominator.
‘His appreciation of the beauty of Guernsey’s natural environment ensures that the islands are always shown off in a way that makes you want to be there.
‘Any short or feature with him wielding the camera is destined to look stunning’.
