Mary Bennalick

She has been praised by her teenage grandson and nominator Zack Lanyon for her kindness and positivity, not only towards himself and his sister, but the whole community. 
‘She looks out for everyone, not just me. She is the nicest person I know, and she is my best friend,’ he said. 
Mrs Bennalick could hardly believe she had been nominated. Both she and her late husband looked after Zack since he was two weeks old every day during working hours through his early years. 
Mrs Bennalick said that Zack and his sister mean the world to her and seeing them grow up is the most rewarding thing for her as a grandparent. 
‘We’ve done so much together, it would be impossible to pick just one thing that stands out,’ said Mrs Bennalick. 
‘I don’t expect prizes for doing it, you do what you can, don’t you?’ 
Zack said that he and his gran enjoyed watching the Red Arrows every year and they continue to go to the park for a coffee regularly. 
‘She’s one of the most important people in my life,’ said Zack.
