Marla Vieira

Mrs Vieira is a carer at Brownhill Nursing Home and has been working there for 15 years. 
She was put forward by her daughter Mara, who described her mother as ‘kind, hard-working, and generous.’ Mrs Vieira was commended for the positive impact she leaves on those that she cares for. 
‘She undertakes every task with a smile on her face,’ said Mara. ‘The residents absolutely adore her.’ 
‘The main thing for me is to make the residents happy and give them the care they deserve,’ said Mrs Vieira. ‘I like to sing and dance with the music on. They like to get involved. 
‘We love to have a joke too. They tell me my laugh is contagious.’ 
Mara felt her mother’s level of resilience was deserving of recognition. ‘She has hard days but doesn’t show it as she is always so positive.’ 
‘I’m a positive person. I like to show them that they can see things in a different way,’ said Mrs Vieira.
