Maria Le Noury

Mrs Le Noury has been working as a health care assistant for more than 38 years. 
‘I’m shocked but I’m happy,’ said Mrs Le Noury after hearing of her nomination. ‘I’ve always looked after people.’ 
From the age of nine, Mrs Le Noury has looked after others. As a girl, she assisted nurses with their patient care and helped her mother to raise her sister while in Madeira. Since coming to Guernsey 45 years ago, Mrs Le Noury has worked as a community nurse and in several care homes. She has now been working at Summerland Nursing Home for more than 27 years. 
‘She definitely deserves recognition,’ said her nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous. ‘She constantly delivers work that exceeds expectations, often going beyond her job description to ensure that residents receive the best care possible.
‘She is good at her job and it has been a pleasure learning from her. 
‘Not only is she professional but she is very innovative in how she delivers her duties. 'One of the ways she goes the extra mile is by painting the residents’ nails each week so that they always feel good about themselves.'
