Liz Stonebridge

LIZ STONEBRIDGE has been nominated for the Bailiwick Community Hero award.

About

Miss Stonebridge is the fundraising administrator at Les Bourgs Hospice and has been working there for six years.
Her nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, commended Miss Stonebridge for going ‘above and beyond’ in her role organising events for the hospice.
‘Liz takes so much joy in helping others. She works out of hours attending to all her events, I do wonder how she manages to fit everything in,’ she said.
‘It’s wonderful what Liz does. The hospice relies on funds, and she goes the extra mile to ensure they are well-supported.'
Miss Stonebridge said: ‘It’s hugely rewarding to know the differences that my work can make for the patients and their families.’
One of her many achievements was creating the 30 Bays in 30 Days fundraiser, which has raised more than £265,000 for the hospice since it was established 12 years ago.
‘It’s important for people to be more active and make the most of our island,’ she said.
In her role Miss Stonebridge has been working with the Health Improvement Commission, encouraging more people to keep active as prevention to potential illnesses.
Discussing her plans for the hospice, she said: ‘We can always do more and better. I see the greater needs of a wider demographic first-hand who need our support.’
