About
For the past three years Ms Potter has been the president of the Sarnia Arts & Crafts Club.
Previously she had been the vice-president for six years and a member of the club for 15 years, joining the committee 12 years ago.
‘It’s the longest-running arts society in Guernsey, it gathers people together and it’s for anybody,’ said Ms Potter.
The club is 101 years old and offers anyone the opportunity to embrace their creative side.
Activities continue all year round with monthly meetings and more events are held in the summer, and there are currently around 145 members.
‘It’s so friendly and inclusive, you learn such a lot from each other and it’s non-judgmental,’ said Ms Potter.
Her name was put forward by the committee of the Sarnia Arts & Crafts Club.
They said that Ms Potter had inspired the whole committee and was a great leader for the team.
‘Her incredible commitment, enthusiasm and stamina have made a significant impact on the Sarnia Arts Club and her work is deeply appreciated by all its members,’ said the committee.
‘Her dedication to the club is evident in her tireless efforts to ensure that all events and activities are well organised and promoted.'
Ms Potter said that joining the club had made her much more creative and opened her eyes to more possibilities.
