Les Bourgs Hospice

Les Bourgs Hospice has been nominated for Angel of the Year

About

Les Bourgs Hospice has been in service providing palliative and end of life
care since 1991, with this year being their 35th anniversary.
‘This anniversary is the perfect opportunity to recognise not only the hospice itself but every member of the team and every volunteer who has helped make it a beacon of compassionate care in Guernsey,’ said the nominator.
‘The hospice is much more than a building, it is a place where people are treated with kindness, respect and humanity.’
The hospice also provides a wellbeing programme service over 12 weeks to support the quality of life for palliative patients.
‘We want to help people, with them knowing that they can have the best support of specialist hospice care,’ said nominee Letishia Vermeulen, who is care manager at Les Bourgs Hospice.
‘What makes working here even more rewarding is knowing that our work has a real impact on people across Guernsey. Whether it is supporting patients and families during difficult times, helping someone feel less alone, or simply making a tough day a little easier, it is a wonderful feeling to know that what we do matters,’ said CEO Rob Jones.
‘I am proud to be part of a charity that is loved and valued by our community. The support we receive from local people, businesses and volunteers is amazing, and it’s a privilege to play a small part in an organisation that means so much to so many.’
