About
‘I am overwhelmed and very proud of myself,’ said Mr Enticott after hearing of his nomination. ‘It’s a way of life to me.’
Mr Enticott has been involved with the Guernsey charity scene since 1998. ‘Charities keep Guernsey running. Without them a lot of people like myself would be a lot worse off,’ he said.
This year, Mr Enticott hit his goal of volunteering with 25 charities.
‘I love helping my community. Helping others is good for my mental health,’ he said.
‘Despite my disabilities, nothing holds me back. I am very passionate about Guernsey and I have built my reputation as a trustworthy and reliable volunteer from nothing.’
‘He’s a bit of a local legend,’ said his nominator, Clare Garnham. ‘From sponsored events to flag days, the list is endless and he never tires of trying to help others.
'Nothing is too much trouble for him as long as someone else is benefitting from his work.
‘Karl’s also a fantastic friend and a massive support to everyone who has the privilege of meeting him.’
Mr Enticott has plans to
volunteer at more events this year, including the North and West Shows, the Donkey Derby, Skipton’s Swimarathon, and the Santa Fun Run.
