Jim Ozanne
JIM OZANNE has been nominated for the Carer of the Year award.
About
Mr Ozanne has been working at Guernsey Cheshire Home as a carer for 21 years and has been described as 'the heart and soul' of the home.
Nominated for his consistent positivity, Mr Ozanne has been described to be ‘far more than a staff member. He is a friend, a father figure, a motivator, and a true force of positivity,’ said an anonymous nominator.
‘Jim’s mission has always been clear. That care isn’t just a job, it’s a community, and he has spent the past two decades proving that.
‘His presence lights up the room. He makes sure every person in the Home feels valued, heard, and cared for.’
Beyond his role in caring, Mr Ozanne has taken on various charity events for the home such as the ‘I’m a carer, Get Me Out of Here!’ and a parachute jump. He has also become the Home’s personal chef every Pancake Day.
‘Jim does it all with a grin on his face and a passion to give back,’ said the nominator.
Mr Ozanne was delighted to have been nominated for the award and couldn’t commend the rest of his team enough.
‘I love working at the Cheshire Home. There is such a good team of people who do such good work,’ he said.
‘Just being around everyone and the patients is great. I love it there.’
