Jessica Bates has been nominated for Parent of the Year.
About
Mrs Bates is described as the absolute best by her sons and nominators, 14-year-old Seth Nanninga and six-year-old Arthur Bates, always putting everyone else before herself.
‘She’s celebrated all of our achievements and accomplishments and has been there through every single line, chapter and story,’ they said. Despite having been through so much in life Mrs Bates has never let her children down, ‘she’s our beautiful, special mum and she is the absolute best.’
Mrs Bates loves everything about being a parent, watching her children grow and looking forward to what they do in the future.
Despite her oldest having ADHD, the youngest being undiagnosed and herself having ADHD, Mrs Bates has been able to grow with the children and learn so much more about herself and her sons.
‘Having the boys is the one thing that’s saved me from dark times, they keep me going,’ said Mrs Bates.
Seth and Arthur said Mrs Bates was 'an absolute warrior' and they were lucky to call her their mum, a very special part of the family.
‘There’s good times and bad times, but we all have a giggle,’ said Mrs Bates.
‘Being a mother has changed me in the best ways – they’ve made me a better person.’
