Jess Le Page

Jess Le Page has been nominated for Teacher of the Year

About

Jess Le Page has been nominated for the award for her hard work as head of music at Vale Primary School, where she has worked for the past 11 years.
‘I most enjoy being gifted the opportunity to bring out the best in each student, whether that be in an academic or creative sense,’ said Mrs Le Page.
‘I like to provide a space for students to engage with their creative side as not all learning happens in the classroom. Seeing the children that struggle with the academic side of things seeing them thrive is my favourite part of teaching music.’
Mrs Le Page loves the sense of community fostered within the school. ‘Vale is where my heart is,’ she said.
In the past few years, Mrs Le Page has put on multiple productions with full stage and lighting, including Peter Pan and Oliver Jnr., which were welcome for students of all years to participate in.
‘She has had an absolutely huge impact on the children,’ said nominator Claire Mallandaine.
‘Jess is such an amazing teacher who gives her all into everyday teaching but also works tirelessly to give the children the opportunity to perform on stage,’ she
added.
Mrs Mallandaine’s children have been involved with the school productions both as stage crew and actors. ‘Watching them grow in confidence while on stage was wonderful,’ she said. She credits Mrs Le Page with creating an inclusive environment that brings out the best in the students.
