Jenny Falla
Jenny Falla has been nominated for Bailiwick Community Hero of the Year.
About
Having lived in Guernsey her whole life, Mrs Falla has a lot of commitments on her plate, including Floral Forest, being a douzenier, a hospital chaplain, an interim governor for Le Rondin School and heading up the adult girl guiding Trefoil Guild, which she has been a part of for 10 years.
‘She’s always going somewhere, whenever we meet, she’s always coming from somewhere or going somewhere,’ said her nominator and friend Rose Farish.
Mrs Farish worked with Mrs Falla for seven years at the Grammar School but has known Mrs Falla since their school days.
‘She’s kind, gentle, non-judgmental, never complains, she’s a good egg,’ added Mrs Farish.
Mrs Falla has been part of Floral Forest for around 10 years and loves every bit of it. She has been part of the hospital chaplaincy team for just less than two years.
‘For four years I’ve been a douzenier, I enjoy being a part of it. I’ve learned a lot about the parish,’ said Mrs Falla.
As an interim governor, Mrs Falla goes into Le Rondin for reading days and assemblies, as well as visiting Forest School.
‘I felt like she should be recognised, I think she’s amazing,’ said Mrs Farish.
