Jake Williams
Jake Williams has been nominated for the Angel of the Year Award.
About
Mr Williams has been dedicating his weekends to working as a carer at Les Bourgs Hospice for two and a half years, on top of a demanding full-time job.
His countless hours of dedication and commitment have touched the hearts of many and he has been nominated for going above and beyond.
As close friends of Mr Williams, Holly Tardif and Luci Brucher nominated him for his ‘unwavering commitment, kindness and selflessness’.
They commended Mr Williams for always continuing to do everything he can for those in his care.
‘He doesn’t just show up, he brings his whole heart to the role.’
One unforgettable example of Mr Williams' dedication was when he spent his Christmas Day last year cooking a lunch for patients and their families.
‘It was more than just a meal, it was an act of compassion that made a difficult day feel warm and special,’ said Miss Tardif and Miss Brucher.
‘I am flattered to have been nominated but I don’t do this work for recognition,' Mr Williams said.
'It’s all about getting pleasure from helping others.
'You never know when it may be someone’s last day talking to me.
'Getting to know them provides me with an opportunity to learn and draw from their wisdom and experiences which I can then carry forward with me in my life.’
