Hilary Greening

Hilary Greening has been nominated for the Diversity and Inclusion Award for her dedication to supporting both young people and adults with dyslexia.

About

Mrs Greening originally started her career as a speech and language therapist before moving onto teaching science, and now supporting and spreading awareness of dyslexia.
After moving to the island in 2010, Mrs Greening worked at the Dyslexia Day Centre but has since set up her own business in 2024 after funding was dropped for the centre. ‘I wanted to continue to raise awareness. It’s rewarding to help those who feel they are unable to achieve and showcase their strengths, find their strengths,’ said Mrs
Greening.
‘I am extremely privileged and grateful to have been nominated.’
The nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, praises Mrs Greening on her countless hours of dedication and her ‘passion for inclusion and diversity that shines through every aspect of her work.’
‘She believes deeply in the potential of every child, regardless of diagnosis, and advocates fiercely for their right to thrive.
‘What sets Hilary apart is not just her knowledge or experience, but the extraordinary lengths she goes to without seeking extra pay or recognition.'
Hilary continues to inspire all those who work alongside her and has been described by her nominator to ‘embody the spirit of diversity, equity, and inclusion’ in everything she does.
