Hannah Mechem

Miss Mechem currently teaches PE at Les Beaucamps High School, having just completed her ECT year and on-island teacher training.
‘I’ve always been interested in sports,’ she said. She has a degree in sports management and plays several sports on island, mainly cricket and hockey. 
‘I enjoy doing something I love every day, which is sports, and passing that passion on to the students.’ 
Miss Mechem’s nominator wishes to remain anonymous but they praised her caring and understanding nature towards all students. 
‘She’s the type of teacher you can always go to for anything,’ they said. 
‘She is so understanding about every student’s individual situations and changes her lessons accordingly, but still makes sure she’s teaching everything she needs too.’ 
Miss Mechem was surprised to be nominated, ‘I feel privileged, it’s not what you go to work for, it’s an honour to be recognised,’ she said.
