Gillian Batchelor

Mother-of-four Gillian Batchelor has been nominated for the award because she always puts her children’s needs before her own. 
‘Gill is an exceptional parent because she leads with unconditional love, resilience and selflessness.
‘Despite experiencing extraordinary adversity, she has never wavered in her commitment to her children.’ 
‘If anyone deserves to be recognised as Parent of the Year, it is Gill,’ said her nominator Ms Lumb. 
Balancing the needs of her young adult children and her seven-month-old twins has been tough, but Gillian knows how fast the time goes and hopes to savour all she can with her family. 
‘They mean everything to me.’ 
Through various challenges, Gillian has continued to be patient, and tried her best to act as a role model for all of her children, wanting to teach her girls that just because they are female, that should not stop them from doing what they want to do. 
‘I just want to make a difference in their lives,’ she said.
