‘My grandpa is such an incredible inspiration, at the age of 81 he is captaining the England over 75’s football team,’ said nominator Elise Millington. 
‘He always throws the best Christmas and Easter celebrations every year without fail, we all look up to him so much and could only dream to be a fraction of the man he is today. 
‘He plays for the Rovers men’s cricket team and is very talented, he is an amazing grandad and has accomplished a lot,’ she said. 
Geoff is the grandparent to seven grandchildren all ranging in ages. He takes great joy in doing activities with them, especially within sport. ‘I love being their guide, making sure that they enjoy life, help them along the way and set them up for a bright future,’ he said. 
‘This nomination surprised me, it came out of the blue. You do it because you want to give them the life they will enjoy in the future.’
