Frossard Ward

FROSSARD WARD, the children's ward at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, specialising in care from birth to age 18, has been nominated for Angel of the Year.

About

‘Lots of the nurses have been here a long time, it helps to have a familiar face,’ said the manager of the ward, Roseanna Patterson.
‘We are a small team and we prioritise one-to-one care.'
Frossard Ward was nominated with high praise by Katrina Bray and Ollie Ward.
Their son, Nathaniel, was admitted to the ward last year but had to spend several weeks in Southampton after being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. He now goes on the ward every month for treatment.
‘They held our hand through the most horrendous experience – your whole world is falling apart, and they pick up the pieces,’ Katrina said.
‘We can’t thank them enough for being absolute angels, they made a difficult situation more bearable.’
They especially praised their son’s specialist, Dr Sarra Ahmed, who Nathaniel sees regularly when he goes for treatment.
‘Everyone works together to find the best solution for the child,’ Dr Ahmed said.
‘I draw on support from everyone around, and its important to communicate well with families and parents.’
