Enya Bessin

Enya Bessin has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year Award.

About

Miss Bessin has been teaching hairdressing at the College of Further Education for four years and has been nominated for going that extra mile for her students.
Described by her nominator, Anna Mills, as a ‘superstar tutor,’ Miss Bessin’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. Mrs Mills’ daughter, having never experienced secondary school after being home educated, felt worried about beginning college and what her next steps would be in her career path. However, Miss Bessin provided the support she needed to feel at ease about starting college through explaining the college days in full and organising meeting the other staff.
‘I can’t thank her enough for the support, encouragement and understanding. If it wasn’t for Enya, my daughter wouldn’t be where she is today,’ said Mrs Mills.
Miss Bessin was honoured to have received this nomination.
‘I am a little bit in shock but it’s so lovely and unexpected. It means a lot,’ she said.
‘Seeing students’ progress and grow whilst their personalities and confidence come out is what I find most rewarding.’
