PSHCE and drama teacher from Les Beaucamps High School Mrs Perkins was praised by her nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, for her kindness and care towards every student. 
‘She makes her lessons so fun and provides the best opportunities for students,’ said the nominator, who has been taught by Mrs Perkins for three years. 
Since moving to Guernsey from England 11 years ago, Mrs Perkins has taught at Les Beaucamps. She has been teaching for 18 years in total. 
‘Being a teacher keeps me enthusiastic and positive, it’s a great career,’ said Mrs Perkins. 
As well as teaching Mrs Perkins has continued to run several clubs for the students, which this year have included Pokemon club, LGBTQ+ club and a writers' club. 
‘I’m very pleasantly surprised at the nomination, it’s really lovely,’ said Mrs Perkins, who enjoys bringing the energy and positivity to the classroom. 
‘She’s definitely helped me get through school as her lessons are like a break from learning even though you still are,’ said her nominator. 
‘I think that just makes a difference to my school and overall life.' 
Mrs Perkins has wanted to be a teacher since university and said that her focus was always on making sure her students enjoyed their learning.
