Dr Barzan Barzangy

Since 2023, Dr Barzangy, who specialises in gastroenterology, has worked at the Medical Specialist Group helping his patients with an exceptional level of compassion and respect. 
Before moving to Guernsey, Dr Barzangy worked in Manchester. He has been a doctor since 1997. 
‘I’ve been a patient of his for about a year, he’s just amazing, I’m so grateful,’ said his nominator, Helen Goldsmith. 
‘I’m very excited to be nominated,’ said Dr Barzangy when he heard about his nomination. 
Although he only meant to stay on the island temporarily, Dr Barzangy felt he needed to stay here to have the impact he intended. 
‘What makes him so special is how much compassion he has and the respect and care he shows,’ added Ms Goldsmith. 
‘He never dismisses suggestions and always goes the extra mile.' 
Despite being in a drastically different environment to Manchester with a challenging demand for care, Dr Barzangy enjoys what he does. 
‘I help to change lives for the better, which is a good impact,’ he said. 
‘So many patients say how lovely he is. We’re lucky to have him,’ said Ms Goldsmith.
