David Savident

Mr Savident is a key member of the team at the Mill Street Community Cafe where diversity and inclusion is at the heart of what it does. 
Described by his nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, as ‘a bundle of joy,’ Mr Savident has been nominated for always going out of his way for other people and the hard work he does to support the cafe. 
‘David has always been one of the most accepting people who will always do for others before he does for himself. He just seems to light up the room and people wherever he goes.’ 
Mr Savident was delighted to have been nominated. 
‘It’s a great surprise and pleasure. Above all we are a place for everyone, irrespective of age, sexuality, gender, poverty, colour and race. We don’t judge and we try support those in need.’ 
In his own time, Mr Savident attends the Town Church.
‘The church, like the cafe, 
is a place where we continue to fight discrimination,’ he said. 
‘So my nomination for this award is so special because it validates what we and I stand for.’
