Daniel Wood

DANIEL WOOD has been nominated for Young Achiever of the Year.

About

Last December 10-year-old Daniel took part in the Reindeer Run Challenge along with his grandmother, running 24 miles throughout December. He raised more than £1,000 for the Guernsey RNLI.
Not only did he receive a medal for his efforts from the RNLI but also a silver Blue Peter badge, the second-highest award given.
‘I’m very happy and excited to be nominated and proud of the things that I’ve managed to do to raise money for the RNLI,’ said Daniel.
This challenge was the first time Daniel had done any regular running but with the help of his grandmother completed every run, smashing the original target of £125.
‘I think Daniel’s unwavering dedication and massive success show that no matter how old you are you can always achieve what you set your heart on,’ said the nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous.
Inspired by the ‘Saving Lives at Sea’
documentary on BBC, Daniel got involved with the RNLI and continues to fundraise for it regularly. ‘When I grow up, I want to join the crew,’ he said.
Daniel hopes to do the Reindeer Run again this year and plans to get his friends involved.
‘Well done to Daniel, I really think he deserves this nomination for all his hard work,’ said his nominator.
