Damien Fitzgerald

Mr Fitzgerald has been coaching at Rovers football club for 10 years and has been nominated for his tireless work with the U13 squad. 
The nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, has a son at the club who is coached by Mr Fitzgerald. ‘What shines most about him is the time he takes out to ensure each player is an individual who is able to be their best self,’ they said. ‘Damien makes sure that my son fits into an establishing squad. His dedication is unwavering.’ 
Alongside his coaching, Mr Fitzgerald organises annual trips to Jersey where the squad play against other teams in their league.
‘It’s comforting to know that the parents are willing to let their children come along on the trip with us,' he said. 
‘It’s not just football we do on these trips. In the past we have been to the zoo, gone swimming and played tennis. 
‘I am very proud to have been nominated. It’s always so great to see the excitement on the kids’ faces.’
