Coolderry House

With more than 20 members of staff, Coolderry House specialises in care for EMI residents, largely those with dementia. 
‘The staff are absolutely brilliant,’ said nominator Gwen Le Sauvage. Her sister Shirley has lived at Coolderry House for the past 
nine months. 
‘They always make you feel welcome. She loves it there. My sister has dementia and it makes me happy to see she’s safe.’ 
Home manager Emma Ozanne said that seeing residents happy was the most rewarding part of her job. A carer of more than 20 years’ experience, including 16 at Coolderry House, Miss Ozanne has been manager for the past year. 
‘We put on extra staff so that residents have more one-to-one time as they have different preferences and hobbies. This way we can make sure everyone gets to do what they want,’ she said. 
‘The most rewarding part is seeing the residents happy as we try to make the rest of their years as good as possible and let them do what they want to do.'
