Briercliffe House staff

Staff at Briercliffe House engage 100% in what they do for children, according to nominator Karel Hort.  

Anna Falla is one residential support worker in the team of eight who contributes to the team. She provides support for young people who cannot live at home for various reasons.

‘We’re their parent while they can’t be in the care of their own parents.'  

Before working at Briercliffe House, she advocated for young people at the Youth Commission. She then moved to into care work out of a desire to help these children directly.

‘I realised how much I wanted to be part of their day-to-day.’  

Anna said the most rewarding part of the job was having the chance to build relationships.  

‘It can start with a bad day, but you have a chance to give a hug and be that person for them.’  

Mrs Hort praised the staff for their engagement in what they do.  

‘They engage not only with children but the families. They make you feel part of it.’  

She praised the managerial staff as well, in particular Natalie Hadley and Tom Martin.

'We have a small, consistent team that is united in its values and committed to providing the best possible day-to-day care. The team’s strengths lie in building relationships, safeguarding young people and working alongside their families wherever possible to achieve positive outcomes.'
