Bridgette Loveridge has been nominated for Angel of the Year
About
‘I make sure the ward runs at a high standard of care for those who deserve it,’ said Bridgette Loveridge, after hearing she had been nominated for Angel of the Year for her work as manager of the Corbiere Ward at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
Mrs Loveridge has spent almost 25 years working in the hospital’s dementia unit and 38 years working as a qualified nurse.
‘The most valuable part of my role is seeing the staff enjoy their job and the residents enjoy their care,’ she said.
‘I come to work because I enjoy my job. It’s like our little home – our little village.’
Mrs Loveridge played a key role in creating a dementia-friendly living environment at the ward, commissioning a local artist to transform the ward to replicate the feel of a small local village centre, featuring shop fronts from businesses gone by.
‘She has consistently gone above and beyond, placing the wellbeing of both patients and staff at the heart of everything she does,’ said nominator Jayne Joseph on behalf of the team at the ward.
‘She has been a source of strength, compassion, and unwavering support. Her door is always open and her commitment to delivering exceptional care never falters.
‘Her first concern remains her care for others.
‘The positive influence she has had on the lives of patients, families, and colleagues over the years is immeasurable.’
