Barbara Minta

Barbara Minta, MBE, has been involved with Gadoc since 1962, twice serving as its chairman and currently manager of front of house. She has also been involved with the Eisteddfod for more than 40 years. 
‘Barbara is the platinum standard of arts volunteers,’ said nominator Louise Le Pelley. 
‘Immeasurable is her impact over the years. Gadoc and Eisteddfod give opportunities to hundreds of kids but it would not work without the help of the volunteers.’ 
Mrs Minta said: ‘I love seeing people’s reaction when they leave, and also recognise people’s faces from the year before coming to the next show, you start to see the same faces every year.' 
She got involved in Gadoc in the 1960s and ever since has given her unwavering support in many different forms. She had started in the chorus originally and then began to work her way up. 
‘Every year it is the same people and it feels like a community. 
‘I feel very honoured, a similar feeling like when I got my MBE from the Queen, it is a really humbling experience.’
