Arthur Leonard

Arthur Leonard has been nominated for Young Achiever of the Year

About

13-year-old squash player Arthur Leonard is proud to be nominated for the award.
After starting to play in primary school, Arthur has worked his way up to being ranked the 45th best under-15 squash player in England.
This season, he won the Hampshire under-13 county title, leading the county team to third place at the English Junior Intercounty Championship. Arthur represented Guernsey in the Junior Inter-insular against Jersey and was part of the KS3 National Schools winning team. ‘I felt very honoured to be able to bring back the first junior team national trophy to Guernsey’, he said.
Arthur also represented the south of England team as the under-15s number one string against the east of England, winning the competition overall and winning the award for the most valuable player.
‘This has been an amazing season for Arthur’, said his nominator.
‘In the future I can’t wait to play in more tournaments and meet new people’, said Arthur. ‘I really want to play in the British Junior Open again – I was last able to play 18 months ago as an under-13. It is one of the most prestigious junior squash tournaments and I will again be able to play people from all over the world.
‘I am also looking forward to hopefully watching the professionals play. The atmosphere and the experience of being in the auditorium is incredible.’
