Alice Miller

Alice Miller has been nominated for Young Achiever of the Year

About

Completing a swim challenge every summer for the last three years, swimmer Alice Miller has been nominated for the award.
Having completed a seven-day and a 100-day swimming challenge, 13-year-old Alice took on the challenge of a month-long marathon challenge by swimming a total of 26 miles raising money for a local charity which supports dogs helping with mental health.
‘I am very honoured to have this nomination, it certainly wasn’t something I was expecting but something I’m very grateful for.
‘Throughout the swim marathon challenge this summer, I was often swimming with jellyfish which meant I had to be careful, and despite that I still got stung.
‘I am also not a big fan of deep water and seaweed and had to find ways to get more comfortable with coming into contact with seaweed, especially on low tides.
‘I am very happy to have raised over £1000 for Paws For Support this year - it has exceeded my expectation. The donations from everyone have been so generous, especially the Skipton community fund. And while I do plan on doing something like this next year, I’m not sure what yet.’
