Alf Symphorien

‘Alf deserves recognition for the huge amount of time he gives up to share his love of rabbits with people of all ages,’ said nominator Emily Tostevin. 
Mrs Tostevin praised Mr Symphorien for how good he was with the animals after they were brought to her daughter Caitlin’s birthday party. ‘He was definitely the highlight of the day,’ she said. 
Mr Symphorien has been an active member of the Guernsey Rabbit and Cavy Club since 2010. The club hosts frequent fundraisers and events and offers animal care and welfare advice. It also holds several annual rabbit and cavy shows which he frequently attends. 
Mr Symphorien’s work is all voluntary. He often takes therapy rabbits to Le Friquet Garden Centre as well as to schools and care homes. ‘It’s nice to see the faces of people with Alzheimer’s go from nothing to lighting up,’ he said.
