Abbie Forman

Abbie Forman has been nominated for the Arts Contribution Award for her recent commitment and hard-work in directing her first ever musical production.

About

In July, Miss Forman directed a production of Annie Junior with St Stephen’s Players at the Princess Royal Centre for the Performing Arts. Auditioning more than 60 local children, she managed to put together a ‘vibrant and high-energy show,’ said her nominator Nicole Bromley.
‘Abbie provided a stage where every child could shine, regardless of background.
‘She created not only a show, but an experience that built confidence, teamwork and friendship among the cast.’
Miss Forman was ‘shocked but very happy,’ to have been nominated for the award.
‘Directing the show was definitely a big challenge and project but it was very rewarding,’ she said.
‘Seeing the kids’ growth as performers and seeing the smiles on their faces when they received standing ovations was lovely.’
In her own time, Miss Forman continues to support young performers as the director of ‘Musicool Kids’ – a free performance group that entertains at local events. ‘These performances bring joy to the community and offer valuable stage time to the performers,’ said Mrs Bromley.
‘Abbie is a truly inspiring role model who pours her energy into creating spaces where young people feel valued, celebrated, and capable.’
