Aaron Brehaut
AARON BREHAUT has been nominated for the Sports Volunteer of the Year award.
About
Mr Brehaut has been coaching young players at the Guernsey Rugby Association for four years and has been nominated for his enthusiasm and dedication.
The nominator, Lucy Brehaut, described Aaron as ‘putting his heart and soul into coaching.’
‘His coaching is second to none and he turns up every Sunday to train all the enthusiastic young people.’
Mr Brehaut is also a trained first aider for the year group he coaches as well as being trained in safeguarding. His business, Cobo Auto Repair Ltd, has previously sponsored the first aid for the team. This ensured all year groups had the necessary equipment to deal with any injuries. ‘Aaron put everyone first, he really has a heart of gold and all his team and parents really respect him,’ said Mrs Brehaut.
Mr Brehaut was ‘shocked’ to have been nominated for the award. ‘Seeing them play and coaching the young children is great,’ said Mr Brehaut. The teams are also provided with the opportunity to play in their league games against the UK and Jersey which Mr Brehaut takes them along to.
‘I have a close relationship with the kids, so seeing them become such good friends and all coming together to play rugby is the most rewarding bit of coaching.’
