Their willing efforts often go unnoticed except by those who rely on them heavily and appreciate their support so much. This help can often be at the expense of their own lives and freedom yet is given with no thought of thanks or acknowledgement. It is, they would simply believe, just what carers do. Yet this award plans to change all that. They are special treasures and we aim to celebrate their generosity and dedication, without which so many in our society would suffer.
